All DECCO US fruit and vegetable coatings contain food grade ingredients cited in the US Code of Federal Regulations, Part 21 (Food and Drug Administration “FDA”), under strict sanitary conditions and in full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
DECCO US offers coatings with full EU compliance, based on shellac, carnauba and polyethylene. Because of the alternate ingredients used in these coatings, they have varying properties of gloss and durability compared to morpholine containing coatings.
DECCO US recommends to all packers exporting to EU to avoid using coatings containing morpholine or any other amines listed in EU communiqué of October 22, 2010.
DECCO has access to a wide range of EU coatings via its sister operations around the world.
Listed below are three of the coatings that DECCO US has placed into production to meet the needs of those packers exporting to the UK and EU. They are manufactured with ingredients listed in EU Directive number 95/2/EC for food additives and its amendments.
