« Show all News/EventsAs exports of fresh fruits and vegetables from Chile and Peru are increasing, so are demands for the postharvest products and equipment from Decco US and Decco Worldwide. Decco has responded by creating Decco Chile SpA, a wholly owned Decco Worldwide corporation with main offices in Rancagua, Chile, and employees with offices, warehouses and service centers in Chile and Peru.
The need for additional Decco facilities and personnel in these markets underscores the value of Decco Postharvest products and equipment to packers in these countries. These products include:
• DECCO Morpholine-free shellac- and carnauba-based fruit and vegetable coatings for EU shipments.
• DECCO Auto-Kote automated wax applicator, a revolutionary system that provides maximum fruit coverage while using less wax.
• No-Scald DPA, an apple scald inhibitor.
• DECCO sanitation products for fruit storage.
“South America is on the way to becoming a leading global exporter of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially apples, pears, stone fruit and citrus, and Decco is committed to growing its on-the-ground services and facilities to keep pace with this market expansion,” says Jim Sargent, general manager, Decco US, in making the announcement.
Decco services this market with a full line of coatings, anti-scald products, fungicides/disinfectants and sanitizers, along with the equipment and expertise for a complete and effective postharvest program.
Previously, Decco US products were marketed and distributed in Chile under a distributor agreement with Techpro/Sociedad Chile. Experienced agronomist Rodrigo Diaz Ramos, formerly Techpro director, is the new general manager of Decco Chile. He can be reached at rodrigo.diaz@uniphos.com, or by mobile phone at 56-99-5391786.
